The game will almost assuredly be a reunion between former Carlos Vela and Antoine Griezemann. The two played together for Spanish club Real Sociedad from 2011 to 2014. Vela is MLS’ leading scorer for Los Angeles Football Club with 11 goals. Meanwhile, Griezmann, a World Cup winner with France last summer, is a forward for Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid is managed by Argentine Diego Simeone. In Simeone’s seven and a half years on the touchline, he has won seven trophies, including the 2014 La Liga title and the Europa League in 2012 and 2018.
