The United States Women’s National Team will end its record-setting 2019 in Jacksonville, Fla. U.S. Soccer announced the world champions will host Costa Rica at TIAA Bank Field on Sunday, Nov. 10.
The contest will be the fourth time the USWNT has played in the River City. The Americans are 1-2 in Jacksonville. The program lost 2-1 to Norway in February 1996, defeated Scotland 4-1 in February 2013 and topped Mexico by the same score on April 5, 2018.
The USWNT has played Costa Rica 14 times since 2000, outscoring La Sele 75-2 in those games.
The match will be the final match for USWNT manager, and Miami resident, Jill Ellis.
Ellis has led the USWNT to a 17-1-2 record in 2019. The Americans have four matches remaining this calendar year: friendlies against Korea on Oct. 3 and Oct. 6, as well as Nov. 7 friendly against sixth-ranked Sweden in Columbus, Ohio.
Should the USWNT win those three matches, the program would finish with a winning percentage over .900 for the second straight year and the 12th time in the 35-year history of the program.
