By Official Florida FC
The U.S. Women’s National team, fresh off its Concacaf Women’s Championship this summer, announced its roster for a pair of September friendlies against Nigeria.
No one with Florida ties was named to the squad.
Cocoa Beach native Ashlyn Harris was last named to the squad in January 2021. Florida State alumna Jaelin Howell has been a stalwart for Racing Louisville, but the 22-year-old work to do to earn minutes in a star-studded midfield. Another former Seminole great, Casey Krueger, is on maternity leave.
Orange Park resident Carson Pickett, whose play with the North Carolina Courage earned a call-up to the national team in June, but was not selected for the CONCACAF Championship, nor next month’s friendlies.
