By Official Florida FC

The FHSAA soccer season is racing toward the district playoffs.

Each Tuesday, after the FHSAA releases its official rankings, Official Florida FC will share which programs are the best in the Sunshine State.

While little more than regular season bragging rights are at stake, the FHSAA rankings are a good indicator of which teams will host once regional tournaments kick off in February.

The top four teams in the Sunshine State remained the same.

Montverde Academy has won the last four FHSAA titles it has competed for, and appears to be the heavy favorite in Class 3A once again. The Eagles are undefeated against the 14th toughest schedule in the state and have wins over one of the top challengers to their crown in Orlando Lake Highland Prep, as well as a victory over the current No. 2 team in Class 4A Orlando Bishop Moore.

We frequently highlight the quality of girls soccer in St. Johns County. Yet, every year it remains impressive the players and teams that are produced in the Jacksonville suburb. Of the five public schools in the statewide Top 10, three – Creekside, Ponte Vedra and Bartram Trail – are from St. Johns County.
