The FHSAA soccer season is racing toward the district playoffs.
Each Tuesday, after the FHSAA releases its official rankings, Official Florida FC will share which programs are the best in the Sunshine State.
While little more than regular season bragging rights are at stake, the FHSAA rankings are a good indicator of which teams will host once regional tournaments kick off in February.
Pensacola Washington retained its top spot in the statewide rankings after a pair of wins to kick off the 2025 calendar year.
Tampa Jesuit jumped from No. 6 to No. 3 in the statewide rankings after dominant wins over Bradenton Lakewood Ranch and Wesley Chapel, two programs that have combined for 22 wins this season.
Jacksonville Mandarin is between Jesuit and Washington. The Mustangs are unbeaten in their last 46 regular season contests after a 6-0 win over Jacksonville Wolfson, the No. 4 team in Class 3A, during the Gateway Conference tournament final on Jan. 10.
Palm Harbor University is the only unbeaten and untied boys soccer program on the peninsula. The Hurricanes (13-0) are No. 7 in the statewide rankings and have conceded an unbelievable three times this year. One of those three was in a mercy-rule win over Dunedin on Monday night.
Palm Harbor University was No. 6 statewide in the first rankings of the season, dropped out of the top 10, as the program didn’t immediately play after the winter break. The Hurricanes have five players who have scored at least five goals, including 15 from sophomore forward Mohamed Tejeddine.
