Florida State won its fifth consecutive ACC Women’s Soccer Championship on Sunday with a come-from-behind win over North Carolina.

Wrianna Hudson scored the conference-clinching goal in the 67th minute. The freshman forward was assisted by sophomore forward Jordynn Dudley.

North Carolina led twice. Kate Faasse converted a penalty kick in the 31st minute and scored her second in the 43rd.

Florida State freshman Taylor Suarez equalized in the 34th minute.

The garnet and gold comeback was done and dusted in five minutes. Shortly after the hour mark, Ashlyn Puerta entered and made an immediate impact.

Puerta drew a penalty kick. Taylor Huff converted. Four minutes later, Hudson put the ball home to give Florida State its first lead.

Sunday’s win helped the Seminoles win their 11th ACC Tournament title.

The Seminoles (14-2-3) enter the NCAA Tournament unbeaten in their last eight matches. In their run to the ACC title, Florida State outlasted No. 3 Wake Forest in penalty kicks on Thursday night and No. 8 North Carolina for the conference title.

Considering Florida State was only team in the top 8 of the last United Soccer Coaches poll to win their conference tournament, the Seminoles may be in line to claim a No. 1 seed when the NCAA Tournament brackets are announced on Monday.
