Zac McMath, a former goalkeeper at St. Petersburg High School as well as the Clearwater Chargers, made his 2019 MLS debut on Saturday afternoon for the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Vancouver, three days after beating Los Angeles FC, made the cross-continent journey to face Orlando City.
The 27-year-old Florida resident made his 135th MLS appearance in a 1-0 loss to the Lions. He made three saves in the defeat.
